Yes, the service is on https, we have secured the broadcast with password and the technology involves end to end encryption.

In terms of privacy, you will notice we do not collect any personal information.

And in technical terms, we are using a peer to peer video technology. This means you are transmitting video directly from the capturing device to the viewing device/s. Our servers do not accessible any of video content.

Thus, this service is secure and your privacy is completely assured.

So far, we have successfully run sessions of continuous broadcast up to 2+ hours. We do notice when wifi signal is weak or unstable (eg. wifi blind spot ), the video link will be affected. In most cases, the viewing end just need to reconnect.

You do not need to broadcast name and password if you are using Instant Video broadcast feature. However, if setting a broadcast name and password is more convenient, you can do so with the steps below.
On the capturing device, you can create any broadcast name and password of your choice. For my case, as my kid is preparing for PSLE, I sometimes set 'PSLE' as the broadcast name. Next time, if he is doing composition, I may name the broadcast as 'EngCompo'. Really, its anything you like and you can create a different broadcast name everytime you use web App.

You can create any password too. Just something easy to remember as you need to enter it into the viewing device. Sometimes I just use the time when I created the broadcast as password. eg, if I created the broadcast at 12:30pm, I set the password as '1230'. As a added precaution, best not to use any of your existing passwords here.

On the viewing device, enter the same broadcast name and password you have created. Following the example above, I will enter broadcast name 'PSLE' and password '1230'. Please do not use this set of broadcast name and password. Create something that suits you best.

Yes, you will need one device to capture the video of your loved ones and can have another one or more devices to view it.

The devices can be a spare smart phones, tablets or laptop. You do not need SIM card in the smart phone. You just need a good internet connection.

For my case, I use a spare tablet to capture my kids' studies and view the video from my laptop. My wife may sometimes view the video together too.

No installation is required. You just need to have a good internet connection and compatible browsers on both devices establishing the video link.

This web App has been tested on latest versions of Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari. Please note we do not support Safari before version 11.

Currently, we have 1 compatibility issue with Samsung A10.

Yes, Watch Over can run in the background. However, we found that some operating system may try to optimise the network usage of background jobs. As a result, the connection might be cut after a while.

Connection will also be cut when you switch your device to standby mode.

You just need to reconnect to continue watching the private broadcast.
